Murillo building • Mabel Ubiria Center
Day centers are specialized facilities where a group of professionals is dedicated to the treatment and care of the people who use the facility during the day. These users may continue living at their own homes, or choose to live in apartments in the building.
Day centers provide people with the opportunity to learn and improve their lifestyles. They have the support of a team of professionals responsible for the main areas of comprehensive health care and personal development. Some of these professional team members include physical therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists and social workers, and a team of doctors and nurses.
The support and information provided by these centers is meant to improve the quality of life of both users and family members.
The creation of a Day Center is based on the need to complement the care provided to young people and adults who do not have these kinds of services available to them, as well as disabled persons who have finished their education and need the services of a day center.
